K9 Academy
K9 Academy is located just outside Erbil International Airport At the K9 Academy we train dogs from 9 months of age until certified Explosive Detection Dogs, Patrol Dogs or Narcotic Detection Dogs.
Explosive Detection Dogs (EDDs)
Explosive Detection Dogs (EDDs) are trained on 14 different types of explosives using live explosives under license from the Kurdish Regional Government Ministry of Interior In 2020 we had some 36 Explosive Detection Dog Teams deployed thru ought North Iraq in support of our clients. With some of those projects we also supply a mobile kennel facility..
Patrol Dogs (PDs)
Patrol Dogs (PDs) are trained to detect perimeter intrusion. They can also be deployed as Guard Dogs for various industrial facilities.
Narcotic Detection Dogs
Narcotic Detection Dogs (NDDs) are trained on various drugs as per the Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Interior using scent bag training aids . We support several Government and Non-Government Organizations with NDD searches as either a precaution against the possible presence of drugs at their premises or when called.
Dog Handlers Course
The Basic Dog Handlers Course is three weeks long using Black Rider working dogs. We usually do these courses at our K9 Academy in Erbil but have in the past trained Dog Handlers elsewhere in Iraq. On successful completion of the Course the Dog Handler Candidate is Certified and then married up with his or her dog for another week of training before the Dog Team can be Certified.

Our team of dogs is specially trained to search people, vehicles, and buildings, providing security and detecting explosives and illicit substances. Established in 2009, the K9 Patrol team has over a decade of experience in the industry. We have achieved NSI Gold status, and are accredited by Safecontractor and the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme.
